I spent only two days in Uruguay, visiting Colonia and overnighting in Montevideo. Missing my bike, I rented a scooter thinking I could get to Montevideo that way (big mistake, ended up on a bus). The entire country seemed to be clinging to some past glory, complete with a crumbling colonial neighborhood in Montevideo.
